After months of what has seemed like little or no progress, things are starting to move ahead with the renovations. This week we’ve had photos from the builder-cum-project manager of the changes so far.
First up, the old kitchen and downstairs toilet have been ripped out. Here’s what that part of the building looked like before.
And here’s what it looks like now. This will be the bar area in the future.
Then there was the bathroom on the first floor. Carpet-clad baths aren’t to everyone’s taste – they’re certainly not to ours. Here’s the before.
And the after.
Finally for now, the top back bedroom, where fitted cupboards around the bed concealed some design disasters, including a shower room to one side and a toilet to the other.
Here’s what that space currently looks like.
We’ve also given the roofer and the glazier – both locals from village – the go ahead. We now just need to agree quotes for the plumbing, the heating and the building work.
There’s still a long way to go, but we’re getting there.
